With the help of many throughout the local and regional community, preparations for what promises to be one of the largest events on Guam continues.
Bank of Hawaii this morning donated $15,000 to help support the 12th Festival of Pacific Arts.
"This is a great example of the private sector supporting events that promote and perpetuate not only the Chamorro culture but the sharing of the cultures of the region," the Governor stated.
Bank of Hawaii joins a group of corporate and private donors and sponsors who have pledged their support for this event.
Guam made its bid to host the 12th FestPac and was awarded the honor at the 10th Festival in American Samoa, in 2008. It wasn’t until July 2012, at the 11th FestPac, when Guam officially received the festival flag.
"Everyone is excited for FestPac. From our sister island nations to members of our community, we can see the enthusiasm," Gov. Eddie Baza Calvo said. "We’re all working together to make the 12th Festival of the Pacific Arts the best one yet!"
